| 80's White Merino $23/16 oz. $12.50/8oz. $7.50 / 5 oz. (1 oz. to sample with, 4 oz. for socks) $6 / 4 oz. |
A 19 micron merino top, wonderfully soft and lovely to handle. Produces a yarn which feels skooshy (soft, loft, squishable) because of the fine crimp in the wool. |
| 50/50 blended top--80's White Merino/Tencel $28/16oz. $14/8oz. $8/ 5oz. (1 oz. for sampling, 4 oz. for socks) $7/ 4oz. |
A 19 micron merino top, wonderfully soft and lovely to handle blended with the gorgeous bombyx silk-like sheen of Tencel.

| Superwash Merino (low stock, part of reorder) $20/lb $10.00/8 oz. $6/ 5 oz. (1 oz. for sampling, 4 oz. for socks) $5/ 4 oz. |
Soft and lofty, this has been one of my favorites to spin with--it's a wee bit slick, so it drafts easily and spins up incredibly quickly. And it's great to know that the yarn you make is machine washable (handspun handknits for babies!) |
| Colonial Superwash $20/16 oz. $11/8oz. $6.75/5oz. $5.50/4oz. |
Softer and slicker than the usual Colonial Wool because of the superwash treatment,
with its increased micron size and longer staple
it's an easier spin than
the superwash merino for the new spinner, and great for sock yarns or kidwear. |
| Fine White Shetland $21/16 oz. $11/8oz. $6.75/5oz. $5.50/4oz. |
Easy to spin like the Corriedale, but softer. Great for spinning to dye for fair isle, or even for spinning fine to make an heirloom lace shawl.
Has a nice luster. |
| Icicle (white) $2/oz. $10/8 oz. |
I find this fiber hilarious. It's soft, it's sparkly, it's superfine and somewhat flyaway. If you've spun Firestar, it's like that, but much softer and finer, but with all the sparkle. You can spin it alone, or blend it, and it really sucks up the dye quite well. Staple length is about three inches. |
| Carded Corriedale Sliver $26/lb $13.00/8 oz. $8/ 5 oz. (1 oz. for sampling, 4 oz. for socks) $6.50/ 4 oz. |
Less soft than merino, but still within the range of "close to the skin" comfort. Has a nice sheen and the carded prep makes
it easy to make a lofty woolen yarn, warm and comfortable. |
| Corriedale Cross Top (temporaroly out of stock, part of reorder) $12/lb $7.00/8 oz. $6.00/ 5 oz. (1 oz. for sampling, 4 oz. for socks) $5.00/ 4 oz. |
Has a very nice sheen and strength and the combed prep makes
it easy to spin and make a worsted yarn, smooth, but when plied, warm and comfortable.
Less soft than merino, but still within the range of "close to the skin" comfort. Long staple and great price makes this a good "beginner fiber." |
| Colored Carded Merino Sliver $26/lb $13.00/8 oz. $8/ 5 oz. (1 oz. for sampling, 4 oz. for socks) $6.50/ 4 oz. |
Soft and skooshy, this prep produces a tweedy naturally colored roving,
similar in shade to that of dark Bluefaced Leicester: it's not gray, it's not brown, it's somewhere in between, like ghost chocolate. ;)
The carded prep makes
it easy to spin and make a lofty woolen yarn, warm and comfortable and spongy soft when you squeeze the skein. |
| Cotton/Silk 70/30 blend $40/8oz. $75/16 oz. |
Blended in Switzerland and the mixture is so even and so silky soft it's just exquisite. If you've tried to spin cotton and felt frustrated, you should try this. The silk makes it easy to spin, and together, the silk and cotton make this the perfect fiber for the perfect summer garment. It feels...like pure silken softness, the most luxurious blend I've ever held. |
